i really liked this woven kingdom. it was a fantastic book – a strong opening to a new trilogy. and compared to shatter me, it was definitely a step up in mafi’s writing.

unfortunately, i found these infinite threads the opposite. while i still really enjoyed the setting and the world building, i struggled with the plot. i couldn’t even remember the plot immediately after finishing the book. i wasn’t memorable in the slightest. the book is over 400 pages long and i can’t tell you a single thing that happened in it.

on a plus note, i really enjoyed the banter between cyrus and alizeh. they had some cute scenes but it didn’t make up for the lack of plot.

i really hope this book is just suffering from ‘second book syndrome’, and that the next one will be better.

have you read it yet? or do you plan to? it’s weird because everyone on goodreads is saying it has no plot but still rating it 5 stars.
