the next girl review
the next girl is the first book i’ve read by pip drysdale. i found that i loved the way she tells stories, and can confirm that i’ll definitely be reading her other books in the future!
my absolute favourite thing about the next girl was the plot twists at the end. as with all books, you have thoughts as to what’s going to happen next. with this book in particular, my theories were very inaccurate. i’m usually at least somewhat on the right path. 😂😂
the next girl was a book i struggled to put down. i just didn’t want to stop reading! i needed to know what was going to happen next. there was enough of a pull to keep me on the edge of my seat.
i also found the pacing to be perfect. it wasn’t too fast that i got lost and confused, but it also wasn’t too slow. there were some extremely intense moments that were a nice fast pace)
my biggest issue with the next girl is that i disliked our main character (billie) at some points. some of her logic and reasoning didn’t make sense but i assume that she’s ‘not mentally sound’ or something. it just made it somewhat hard to like her as i couldn’t relate to some of the decision making.
other than that, i just had a small issue with the placement of certain flashback scenes, but it didn’t disrupt my reading experience.
i really look forward to reading some more books by this author.

Terrific review. I like that the pacing was perfect
pacing is one of the most important things when i read a book. it’s difficult to find a book with the perfect pacing.
This sounds like a really interesting book. I’m definitely adding it to my TBR. I’m glad you liked it too despite the MC.
i’m glad i did too! i hope you enjoy it as much as i did.
