cry wolf review
cry wolf is written by the same writer who created the bridge and marcella – both are tv shows that i absolutely loved. going into cry wolf, i was hoping for the same vibes from those shows. i wasn’t disappointed.
if you love scandinoir or scandiavian crime, you’ll love this book. it reads the same was the shows are written (which i wasn’t sure was possible!).
i have a soft spot for hannah and katja. i found both to be interesting and entertaining. katja isn’t a “good guy”, but i still found everything she did fascinating. hannah, on the other hand, is our standard good guy detective.
the plot was non stop. there was always something happening, only slowing down to reflect. i love fast paced books, and this really takes the mark on how quickly i flew across the pages.
my only dislike of this book was the multi pov narrative. we have a few consistent narrators (such as hannah and katja), and then there’s those who have one off chapters (of which there is a lot!). this made it a little confusing, as we were constantly introduced to new characters and trying to remember everyone.
overall, it was a fun read and kept me on my toes the whole time. although i’ve enjoyed hans rosenfeldt’s works through tv, this is the first book of his that i’ve read. and it certainly won’t be the last.

I’m so glad you enjoyed this. I haven’t watched The Bridge or Marcella, are they shows from New Zealand?
no, they’re scandinavian shows! they’re available on netflix here though. i do recommend them if you’re into crime dramas.
