Review Policy
while i’d love to read and review every book that i receive, it isn’t possible. because of this, i’ve got a few guidelines.
firstly, if you would like to send me a review request, you can do so by emailing me on chelsea@yourbookishfriend.com if you don’t hear back within 48 hours, please assume that i am respectfully declining your request. however, if i do accept, please allow up to 6 weeks for the review to be posted, unless otherwise stated.
my reviews are 100% honest. if this means that i don’t like your book, i will review it with honesty. if your book is harmful in some way, it is within my right to decline a review.
that being said, i accept all forms of books – physical, galley, audiobooks (i require a physical/digital copy to read along) and ebooks (epub is preferred). if you would like the book to be featured on my instagram, i require a physical book. i prioritize physical copies over ebooks, as i understand the monetary value.
books i won’t accept
- non fiction
- self help
- erotica
genres i prefer
- young adult (all subgenres, particularly fantasy and thriller)
- middle grade (all subgenres, particularly fantasy and thriller)
- adult
- thriller/crime/mystery
- historical fiction
- fantasy (and romantasy)
indie authors are welcome. i don’t turn away authors based on who published them.
collaborations / sponsors
i am open to collaborations with authors, publishers, and companies. please clarify what platform the collaboration is for.
collaborations include, but aren’t limited to, the following:
- author interviews
- guest posts
- giveaways
- cover reveals
- blog tours
i don’t charge for reviews. if i enjoyed the book, it will be provided free of charge along with any promotional posts.
if you have something not on this, don’t hesitate to ask! i’m always open to new ideas.
all collaborations, sponsorships, and reviews will be clearly noted on the post, specifying where the product came from.

- book title & author name
- blurb
- cover image (optional)
- budget (in USD or GBP) if you have one
