i recently picked up and loved gild. while the intro was a bit explicit, and not what i was expecting, i found i devoured the book quickly. there’s a lot to love in this book, from the characters to the setting.
i loved the writing style, in particular the fast paced nature. i really enjoy quick reads as they don’t drag or have any “boring bits” in the middle.
the world building is absolutely perfect. there’s not a lot of info dumping that you see in many fantasy books. nor was it under explained.
the characters were well rounded and realistic. i felt a strong connection to auren. i found her past as a sex worker really interesting and enjoyed how she wasn’t shamed for it by the author.
although this book opens with an explicit scene, i found these dwindled as the book progressed. i look forward to reading more of this series!
